White carbon black has fine particles and large specific surface area, and its reinforcing effect in rubber is remarkable. It is usually used as reinforcing agent instead of carbon black in light-colored reclaimed rubber products. In practical production, silica can not only be used as a reinforcing agent, but also increase the adhesion between rubber compound and skeleton material. For example, the combination of silica and cobalt salt can significantly improve the adhesion between reclaimed rubber and steel wire. So why can silica improve the adhesion between reclaimed rubber and skeleton materials? What problems should be paid attention to when using white carbon black to increase adhesion?
1. The reason why silica improves the adhesion between reclaimed rubber and skeleton material.
Hydrogen bonds in silica are easy to absorb water in air, among which hydrogen bonds can be associated with hydroxyl groups to improve the cohesion between particles; Silica can be adsorbed with free water in reclaimed rubber to form chemical water, thus increasing the adhesion between reclaimed rubber and skeleton materials by preventing water from damaging the adhesion structure; The polar groups on the surface of silica will absorb the vulcanized rubber in the formula, delay vulcanization and provide more time for adhesive reaction. The fluidity and permeability of reclaimed rubber are better and the adhesion is improved.
2. The amount of silica used to improve the adhesiveness between reclaimed rubber and skeleton materials should not be too high.
When silica improves the adhesion between reclaimed rubber and skeleton material, the hydrophilicity of silica will make it difficult to disperse evenly in the rubber compound, and if the dosage is too high, it will produce gel. When the rubber compound hardens and the reclaimed rubber is mixed, it will be difficult to produce normally. In actual production, the amount of silica should be reasonably controlled to avoid gel formation.
3. Improve the adhesion between reclaimed rubber and skeleton materials, and pay attention to the timing of adding silica.
In order to improve the dispersion of silica in reclaimed rubber and avoid gel formation, rubber products manufacturers should appropriately increase the shear force during initial mixing and add a small amount in batches to improve the dispersion of silica 2YLYY36 in reclaimed rubber and reduce the heat generation; When mixing, properly increase the mixing temperature, to a certain extent, consume the moisture adsorbed on the surface of silica, reduce the cohesion between particles, promote the uniform dispersion of silica in the rubber compound, and avoid gel generation.
When silica is used to improve the adhesion between reclaimed rubber and skeleton material, rubber products manufacturers need to consider the interaction between silica and other additives and the material of skeleton material, and adjust the formula reasonably to further improve the adhesion between reclaimed rubber and skeleton material.
